Bukowski

I’ve recently finished reading “The Pleasures Of The Damned” for the first time (it will not be the last time). It is a selection of Charles Bukowski’s poetry covering his entire career. I recommend it highly to those who can set aside the discomfort that comes from seeing life stripped of the twee prettiness and “meaning” we all seem to need.

Bukowski

the well of his anger
his women and his booze
gambling on the horses
ill-fitting fame
and in the end
his sad wonder
his cats
his softness
leaking through
the cracks

  1. I havent read any Buckowski, to my shame, but I will, having seen the film of Factotum…”softness leaning through the cracks” Yes. I want to find that.
